We are celebrating this with two exclusive edition models of the 1972 Competition and the 1972 Chronoscope, each limited to 150 pieces, for which our designers have once again come up with something very special: The silver dials of these unique timepieces have a sunburst finish with a filigree print - based on the official logo of the World Chamionships - with stylized snowflakes. A special detail is the small seconds display at six o'clock: in honor of the World Cup hosts, the subdial is printed with the Norwegian flag.

1972 COMPETITION FIS EDITION TRONDHEIM

Junghans developed a limited-edition model on the basis of the 1972 Competition for fans of mechanical movements; this watch is a modern
example of classic hand-operated stopwatches with the crown and chronograph buttons placed at 12 o’clock on the satin-finished, slightly oval
stainless-steel case. Thanks to the sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating on both sides and the luminous hands, the watch, which is limited to 150 pieces, is extremely comfortable to wear and suitable for everyday use. The stainless-steel case can withstand water pressure to 10 bar, and
the ergonomically shaped case back bears a special engraving. It is powered by self-winding calibre J880.5 with 48-hour power reserve. In addition to the time, the date is also displayed and the stop function helps every ski fan to measure the time for up to 30 minutes.

"Whether in cross-country skiing, ski jumping or the Nordic combined: the fight for medals in winter sports combines two things that are an integral part of the Junghans DNA: On the one hand, time plays a decisive role. On the other hand, winter sports are firmly anchored in tradition in our home region, the Black Forest," says Thomas Fiedler, Head of Marketing Junghans, describing the special significance of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships for the German watch manufacturer.

1972 CHRONOSCOPE FIS EDITION TRONDHEIM

The 1972 Chronoscope, which is also limited to 150 watches, has the same color scheme as its self-winding sibling. It is however powered by quartz calibre J645.83, which offers a short-term timing function alongside the date and a 24-hour time display; the stopped time can be precisely shown to one-fifth of a second. This model also demonstrates sporting spirit and suitability for everyday use. It features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which makes for excellent legibility. Thanks to water resistance of 10 bar, contact with deep snow is also no problem. This watch is worn on a blue leather strap with three circular cutouts on each half of the strap, grey leather on the underside, and a pin buckle. The watch comes with a second strap in red leather in the same design as the blue strap.
